Full Sun Farm

What's happening on the farm right now?

All this warm weather is bringing a lot of our flowers and flowering trees into bloom. We've been harvesting tulips and anemones for a week now. And the ranunuclus are not far behind. They are super lovely but really on the early side! We may end up bringing some to the North Asheville Winter tailgate market. We'll keep you posted.

The strawberries are also blooming like crazy so we have those covered up and hopefully cozy for the next few nights. The weather is all over the place and we just have to hold on for the ride.

Speaking of the weather, the rain has also been non-stop. We have been weeding and mulching and pruning and organizing and re-organizing and labeling and there is more of that to do, but we'd really like to have some dry windy days, get some beds made up and plant some kale and sow some beets and carrots. Again, we have no control so we'll just have to sit tight and wait for it to dry out. On the bright side, the farm has never looked better in March!

CSA market and flower shares are available for the 2023 season. When you sign up you get a discount on all our produce, flowers and fruit, the larger the share, the larger the discount. The early money we receive from our CSA members really helps us get through these lean months of the early spring. We are paying everyone and buying supplies and soil amendments well before we start market so each share really makes a difference. We really appreciate your support!
The first of our tulips, about 3 weeks early

The toads are back! They have been migrating down from the mountains around our house and into the pond. They call to each other all day and all night. If you look closely in this photo, you can see two who have found each other.

Thank you for reading.
