News from the Farm – July 29, 2016

Alex and Vanessa headed out for their family vacation yesterday afternoon, so it’s just us four interns on the farm for the next week. The bosses left the farm looking great, so we’re just gearing up for a week of harvesting, battling weeds, and doing some planting and sowing.

Here’s Alex’s News From The Farm:

Our sowing schedule is about 30 pages long, for the entire season. We’re down to the last three pages! Hard to believe, but it’s true. We’re looking forward to not having so, so much in front of us as the summer comes to a close in a few more weeks. There’s still LOTS to do around the farm. This is the time of year that the weeds really start growing, faster than we can keep up. We give it our all trying to keep all the veggies ahead of the weeds, and this year have been pretty successful, so far. It looks like the first sweet corn will be ready for next week’s box! The electric fencing is up around it and seems to holding the raccoons at bay.

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
