News from the farm...
|
Hello! The weather has been so good this week, our fields have dried out and we have been busy mowing, bedding up, sowing seeds and planting plants. Carrots, beets, potatoes, onions, lettuce, lettuce mix and greenhouse tomatoes all went in this week so far and we are hoping to get out the onions and our first round of cukes and squash between today and Thursday. The strawberries are growing quickly. Look for those at the end of the month. We have a great crew so far this year. Sam is back as our farm crew boss and Dan and Ginger have joined us from New Jersey and Georgia respectively. Getting the online farm stand up and running has been a big project for Vanessa and our wonderful CSA member Amie Tracie of Ponderwell LLC. Thank you all for making it a succes so far! It was great to see familiar faces at last Saturday's pick up and to meet all our new customers as well.

What's Available This Week
It is early in the growing season (even though the weather doesn't feel like it!), so we have limited availability of some things. Right now we have a good amount of head lettuce: green oak leaf, red leaf and little gem (baby bibb) lettuce; spring onions, yellow and red, and plenty of beautiful flowers, mixed bouquets, tulips and ranunculus, including a special Easter bouquet. In more limited supply are: Lettuce Mix, Spinach, Bunched green kale.

A note on Ordering and Pick up Days
|
For Saturday pick up: place orders on Wednesday and Thursday; For Wednesday pick up, place your orders Sunday and Monday. The on line farm store will be "closed" for veggie and flower orders on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. This schedule helps us to predict and manage our availability and gives us time to harvest and pack your orders. Oh, and do some farming in between times!
